Atlantic City Electric posted a notice on the doors of Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing this week notifying the owners that electric service will be cut off on April 7 unless overdue bills are paid.

“Electric service to the Hamilton Mall will be disconnected for non-payment unless the past due balance has been paid in full or an agreement has been made between the Landlord/Owner and ACE. Please make any arrangements and take any and all necessary precautions prior to that date,” the notice says.

The mall's owners, Namdar Realty Group, could not be reached for comment.

Frank Tedesco, a spokesman for Atlantic City Electric, told NJ Advance Media that the utility company has tried to work with the mall owners.

“We make every attempt to keep our customers connected," Tedesco said.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the state ordered all malls shut down last May.  Shopping centers remained closed until the end of June 2020
